Architecture has been a passion of mine my entire life. I never wanted to be an astronaut, or a football player, it was always to be an architect. All my life I have enjoyed analysing built form and appreciating truly greatly designed space. I believe that going forward, architecture has a vital role in re-linking the social interactions of humans in the digital age, and I wish to bring forward-thinking, passion and drive to the role in your practice.
Throughout my Masters Year, our studio was situated within the framework city of Athens, Greece. The challenge of a new battleground to deploy my architectural design process was refreshing, and the self led study allowed me to focus on problems within the city that I found myself. With a lack of visual stimulation and perceptual beauty in Modern Athens, I proposed a series of Akalyptoi (residual courtyard spaces within the urban blocks) that are activated to allow access and thus intrigue to the modern development of the city.
A collated journal of my initial thoughts, analysis, and brief gathering within the city of Athens.
The second journal created throughout my final year, focusing on the project design development and thought processes.
My masters project accompanying thesis text. It explores the themes of Materiality, Perception, Route among others, and their application and influence to modern architecture.
